Day 7 Enchanted Highway

We enjoyed the Enchanted Highway in North Dakota  This country road has 7 large metal sculptures  This one is the largest.  See Gary at the base?

The Tin Family  They range from 45 to 23 feet tall.  All the sculptures are made from recycled materials.

Here is the worlds largest buffalo in Jamestown, North Dakota  The people are very creative here in their ways to get you to stop in their towns.

Day 6, Medora, North Dakota 1060 miles

This bison posed so well.  Spent the day at Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
 Beautiful herd of wild horses
This land is beautiful, but not very hospitable.  The native americans had the name right.  Bad Lands.

Days 4-5

These were travel days.  Lots of rain and wind.  Did some group trip planning, decided to add 10 days to the original itinerary.
We stopped in Vida, MT.  My parents pastored this church from about 1985-1990  The inside looks just the same as when they were there.  I could picture my Dad at the pulpit and my Mom at the piano   Here we are, all three rigs lined up.  Not long after we left here we had a blow out on our trailer.  The guys easily changed it and we got a new tire in the next town.  Back on the road.
Part of the reason for our particular itinerary this trip is to complete the map on our trailer.  Today we added North Dakota.  As you see we have several left to go!

Day 3 Glacier National Park

A beautiful day in Glacier.  The group started by looking at big horn sheep on the ridge across the valley.  Moved on to walking up the trail to Mirror Lake.  Lots of snow on the trail.  Gary and Rich were rewarded for their hike in the snow with a close up encounter with several mountain goat families.

Day 2

Fun game of Corn in the Hole.  Great way to relax after a long day of driving.

Garnet and I learned about a quilt shop hop that is nation wide  called Row By Row.  In each shop you get a pattern for a pieced row.  The shops also sell "license plates" that have a fun word in the middle and the state and shop.  We hope to collect plates and patterns for each state we visit

Day 1

å
We got a rocky start.  Yesterday went to fill the cold refrigerator and guess what?  It wasn't cold.  Took it to the shop where Alfredo, the technician diagnosed the problem but they didn't have the part. We took off anyway.  In Ritzville we met up with Garnet and Ken.  My brother in law, Garrett, took on the task of finding the part in Spokane.  By the time we got to Spokane Garrett had located the last thermistor in the area.  We snatched it up and on we went.  Once parked Gary and Rich installed it and atlast, the refrigerator is cold.  Camped at Blue Lake RV Resort near Bonners Ferry, ID.  Lots of turtles swimming in the lake.  Kids, they look just like Pickles.

Off to Maine

We left July 8, 2016 with friends Garnet& Ken, Candy and Rich.  Our trip will take us across the northern US to Maine, down the east coast to North Carolina and then we will wind our way home through the mid west.
