Cadillac Mountain

This morning we drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia NP.  Beautiful views all around.  Lots of islands.  Maine has over 3000 islands.

Lots of rock and more islands.

wild blueberries are in season

There is a trail down the north ridge.  We decided to hike down the trail.  Ken would pick us of at the bottom of the trail.  Rich and Candy hiked the trail.  Garnet got to spend several hours at the top of the mountain enjoying the scenery.

Amazing views all the way down. Gary is looking at Bar Island, from yesterday.  The tide is in and no clue that there is a bar that can be crossed.

The end of the trail

Bass harbor head lighthouse.

Lobster dinner at Beal's Lobster Pier.   We chose this restaurant from our Roadfood Book.  It did not dissappoint.  Had to crack the lobster ourselves.

Weighing the lobster I chose.  You pay by the pound.

The aftermath.  We enjoyed the lobster but what a mess.  It is suppose to be that way.

Bought a wild blueberry pie from a stand along the road.  Had a great dessert back at the trailer.  Rich and Candy supplied ice cream as well.
