New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland

Garnet and I are collecting "license plates" for most of the states we have visited.  We have found quilt shops are closed on Sundays and often Mondays.  We have missed Ohio and Vermont and Delaware because of that.  Each quilt shop also gives a pattern for a row that is a 9" x 36" quilt pattern that signifies something about their shop or town. We will have quite a project when we get home.

We were in New Jersey so had to go to the Jersey Shore.  Biggest water slide I have ever seen.

Board Walk at Sea Side Beach Park.  This barrier island was devastated by hurricane Sandy on 10/29/2012.  All has been rebuilt and we saw no evidence of the storm by 2016.

Lots of people at the beach.  We were surprised to learn you had to pay $8 each to enjoy the beach.  The city uses the money to clean the beach twice a day, lifeguards and to clean their water.  We decided to enjoy the beach from the boardwalk and the air conditioned restaurant.

Delaware isn't very big.  Here is the only photo and barely got it.  Here we are at the toll plaza before we left the state.

We camped at Bar Harbor RV park in Abingdon, MD.  Nice site on the Bush River.  The night brought an amazing lightning storm.  I have never seen so much lightning.  The sky was brightly lite.  It went on over an hour.  Problem with the storm is that a large tree fell over the power line.  We had no a/c this night.  It was a hot steamy night.  Didn't get a very good sleep.  By the time we left for DC the power company was working to restore power.
